The Ganesha trio come from the gritty, humid streets of Pasadena, Texas. South of Houston, Pasadena is full of chemical refineries, a haunted skyline and an abandoned downtown district, not much else to do besides link with friends and start a band to eventually venture out of the city limits. Perhaps it is from their environment that such an edge is given to their live performances. This is a theme explored in variations near grunge, surf, and indie all with a good punch and high energy – their live performance is undeniable and will move you!

Downer

Ganesha rocketed to the forefront of the Houston rock scene with the release of their debut studio album, “Downer”. The music and word about their shows spread and so Ganesha began to be invited to play not only shows in most venues of Houston, Galveston, Texas City, and Austin, but also farther locals such as San Francisco, Las Vegas, and New Orleans.. The shows in support of this album helped but ultimately their Rock and Roll music helped them win multiple awards, including “Houston Press – Best Rock”. They’ve also been featured in articles by the Houston Press, Red Publication, and Voyage Houston.

Imaginary Person

Ganesha introduced a new cover song by Ty Segal, “Imaginary Person” into their set list. The cover song received such a positive reaction from Ganesha fans and supporters, it has become a favorite. The band went to King Benny’s House of Sound and recorded the song which was released on Visionary Noise Records as a single in Fall of 2022.

Reflections & Cages

During 2021-2022 the band began polishing and recording songs they had been working on. Cages was one of the early songs finished in this set of songs and rather than wait the band and label decided to release Cages as a single. Cages is anticipated to appear on an upcoming EP release in early 2024.

The band loves to tour and have shared their music on the road in venues between Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, New Orleans, all over New Mexico, and California.

Ganesha has also shared the stage with Night Beats, All Them Witches, Mystic Braves, Dead Meadow, American Sharks, Duel, Ruby the Hatchet, Ghostland Observatory, Annabelle Chairlegs, and more.
